Elder Miyasaki's Message - 8-26-2013

Hello Friends and Family!
Well I just want to start off this email and tell you all that I love you all so much and that i miss you all like crazy! And thank you all so much for your support and all that you do for me, I really appreciate your love that you show me by sending me emails every week and also packages.
Bueno, this week was just an awesome week! We had a baptism this week and it went awesome. We baptized a girl named Elizabeth and she has 14 years! She is way cool and so funny. With that Miracle we also had another miracle. We also reactivated her family! Those 2 miracles are something very special for us. My kid was really excited to have his first baptism and my kid is just doing awesome, he is picking up the language really fast and he is a very spiritual kid and so i am so very excited for him and for that. During this past week we found out that our sector (Victoria 1 and 2) are leading the whole mission in baptisms this year for our mission. Since I got here in April we have had 14 baptisms and 11 were my investagaders, I promise i am not being prideful, i am just very happy about how much the lord has blessed us in my time here haha. But the work is more than awesome, i love it so much and i cant wait to see even more blessings from the lord that we can recieve. My kid and i are teaching a family right now that is just awesome. Their names are daisy and Javiera. Daisy is divorced and also has an older son that is in college. But Daisy and Javiera are just golden. They are so nice  and so spiritual. Please keep these 2 in your prayers so that they can get baptized! The work is so awesome and I love it so much!
SHOUT OUT TO SPRINGVILLE FOR WINNING THEIR FIRST GAME! That is so awesome, i am so glad to hear that they won. And it sounds like they are going to have a great year! It is also so crazy to hear that school has started again. It sounds like everything is going more than awesome back at home. I promise i will do my part here in Chile!
But i hope you all have such an awesome week and remember that i love you all so much. Espicially you mom!

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 8-12-13

Mi Familia!
¿Como estan mi amigos y familia? Pues hoy dia yo pudi escriber todo de este carta en español, pero porque les amo mucho yo voy a escriber todo de este carta en ingles. So this week has been a great week where we had a lot of great success. We put 4 baptismal dates during the week and we will be having a baptism this next saturday (24th) But we we are trying to do is load up all of our baptisms for the first week of september. My companion and I are getting along great. He is such a spiritual kid and he is learning more and more everyday! The members down here are mean sometimes and try to make him say things in spanish but hey they did the same thing to me haha. This week among the districts and in my zone we had the best numbers and the most success and so i was really happy that my district wanted to work so hard and that they really had a true desire to do the lords work. At times the missionaries dont really take me seriously because I have less time in the mission but its alright i guess. This past week we had all of our activities, and it was such a success!! Everyone loved the activities and the people that came to the activites came to church on sunday and that was obviously a great thing. Our most popular nights were Friday and Saturday. Friday we had our night of Mormon messages with sopipillas (The chilean version of scones) and Saturday when we had our Movie night, we watched monsters university and everyone loved it. But obviously the thing most important was Sunday. We had an awesome sacrament meeting where our Branch President, District President and Mission President all spoke. And WOW that was a really spiritual meeting!! We talked about the possibility of having a stake here in Victoria and so all the people here are really excited about that! But This week we have a lot of lessons that are really important to try to get these baptismal dates set in stone. I am really excited to have another great week and a week that in gonna be filled with a ton of spirit. Thank you all for your love and support and i know that you all would support and love me with whatever thing happens in my life! I am so incredibly blessed to have you in my life and to be a member of the only true church. I hope that you all have such an amazing week and that you will all be an instrument in the hands of the lord this week

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 8-5-13

Mi familia!
Wow what a week it has been! This week was so awesome, On tuesday i went and got my son. His name is Elder Mundell, he is a greingo and he is from Miami florida, he is so cool and he has such a strong testimony about this church. It has been so fun to be train a greingo that doesnt know an incredible amount of spanish haha. But I Know that the lord is going to bless Elder Mundell a ton. And also this week was the first week for me to be a district leader, It was so fun, Pretty all i do is call my district everynight and recomend the things that they need to improve. I also have to have a weekly meeting and talk about the things that we can improve on and the things that we are doing well. I also have to talkk a ton of spanish which is pretty fun i guess haha. But i love it so much so i cant really complain. But the other day i was thinking about all of the things that the lord has blessed me with since I have been out here, and to be honest the blessing are so many! I know that the lord is blessing all of you guys back home and that is the thing most important to  me. I know that the lord truly does want what is best for us. But this week my kid and I made a goal that we are going to baptize 3 people this month and so we are just so excited to go and do this work and to bring souls to christ. We have 10 people that we are comfortable with and that we think can be basptized this month. They all have assistence in the past and so now its just getting them to come to church again. I feel really confidente that the lord is going to help us out during this time. And for the rest of this mission.
This Sunday (11th) we have our conferencia de rama (Branch Conference) So this week everynight we are going to do an activity, Tonight we are doing a family home evening.
Tuesday: Yoga
Wednesday: Devocional
Thursday:Night of sports
Friday: Mormon Messages with scones
Saturday:Movie night
We are so excited for this week and all the blessing that are going to come. But really to all of you thank you so much for your support, it really means a ton, I can literrally feel your love through the emails. But I just want you to knnow that i love you all so much and i am so thankful for all that you have done. Mom i love you more than anything thank you so much for always being such an awesome example to me. And also mom I wear a size 16 and a half neck size. And a large size shirt, for the garments I wear size 34 normal. Thank you all so much for todos!!!

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 7-29-13

Hey everyone!!
Well I am going to start out this letter by just telling you all that i love you so much. I love how you all support me in whatever thing happens to me. Really because of you support and because of the love of our heavenly father i am out here. I am not going to lie. This is the hardest thing that i have ever done mentally, I have wanted to go home, I have wanted to quit. Satan has tried attacking me with so many things, but i am so very grateful for this wonderful oppurtunity that i have to be here, to show my love for my savior Jesus Christ. I really know that these past almost 6 months have been the hardest 6 months of my life, but they have been the best! It really is such a blessing to know as missionaries that we have this chance to bring our brothers and sisters back unto christ, to change the lives of many people because of this gospel. I really know how true this gospel is, because this gospel has changed my life so much, I know that i am a million times better person now than what i was before i left. Thank you all for you support with everything. All of your emails are so amazing for me to have! They really make me want to improve so much. Thank you for all of the advice that i have recieved! But now I have some bad news...
I recieved a call this past week, In this call i was told that i am going to be a father... YES I AM GOING TO TRAIN THESE NEXT 2 CAMBIOS!!!. I really hope that scared someone haha, I am going to be the father of a brand new missionary! I go to concepcion on tuesday to get my kid! With this assignment I am the youngest person in our mision to be training a new missionary. But thats not all... I have also been called to be a District Leader! WOW, the lord is just blessing me so much. When i recieved this call that i was going to be a trainer and a district leader i was really shocked but really excited. As I was kinda thinking about these 2 assignments that i am going to have, And i just made a commitment to myself that i am going to do whatever the lord needs me to do. I really am just going to try my hardest to be the best leader and trainer that i can be. I am so happy to know that the lord really does trust me with these things to be a district leader and a trainer after only 4 months here in chile. It really made me feel great because i know that the savior would only put his trust in me because i am a worthy missionary of him. I am so glad to help these people out here in chile to become more like our savior and i promise you all that with the help of the lord (alot of help) haha i am going to change the lives of the people here because I know that the gospel has changed me so much!
I am so glad to hear that everyone is doing awesome. I love you all so much and really thank you so much for all that you have given me. My scripture for you all this week is DyC 6:36
Love you all and miss you like crazy

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 7-22-13

Hello family and friends!
Well another week has passed in this amazing work of the lord and it really was such an amazing week! I learned so much things this week that will make me such a better discípulo of christ. Well with elder gallareta and I, we have had our fair share of ups and downs. We finally figured out something that will help him work alot harder. And so i am excited for this next week. This week is our last week in this transfer. I have no idea where i am going to be after this week but i am pretty confident that i am going to be here in victoria again for this cambio. I have already been here for 18 weeks so why not make it 24 weeks right haha. Really its so crazy to think that i have already been gone for over 5 months but time sure does fly when you are teaching the gospel and bringing people to christ haha.
I am glad to hear that you all had a great week this last week. I am glad to hear that the girls had an awesome time at girls camp and that Jax is growing up to be just like his older brother haha lets hope he can learn young and be a million times better than me. But I just want to tell Justin to make sure to work your bum off. Its your last year in high school and your last year putting on the red devil red. Wear it with honor and leave everything on the field. But dont ever forget to remember our savior and all that he has done for you. Matt and wendy thank you so much for all the updates that you have given me. I really appreciate all of your support that you give me. Well you will all notice that you wont have pictures this week. This is due to the fact that my camera died and i need to buy batteries. But I will send you some next week.
Thank you all for all that you do for me. I am really eager to have a great week this week and to see this saturday where i am going to be with these new cambios. Pray that i will go to a place that needs my help the most please haha. But i love you all so much and thank you so much that you do for me. Espicially my family. THanks for the support and your love for me. And mom i need something, i need you to send me some more garments preferibly mesh and short sleeve shorts because its gonna get hot
Love you all so so so much y vaya con dios

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 7 - 8 -2013

Family! How are you all doing this week? I just want you to know we had such an amazing week! We had 3 more baptisms this past week which brings the tally up to 9! But the most important thing is that these people now have the chance to live with their heavenly father again! I really dont have much to say this week but i just know that the lord is blessing us so much! I really cant even begin to tell you how much i love this work. It sounds like everyone is doing awesome! Mom it sounds like you are recovering great and it sounds like jax is also doing awesome! I am glad to hear that the girls had an amazing time on their trip this week! I am glad to hear that everyone is all doing so well! Wendy i hope that justin starts to just love football again. There is not a day that goes by that i dont think about the lessons that i learned from football. I really hope that Springville has success this year. But the only way that a team can have success is when ALL of the players give all of their heart. We learned that here in Victoria my first cambio. We werent giving it our all and the results showed. Then we made a commitment to work with all of our heart might mind and strength and look... We got 9 baptisms with another coming in 2 weeks. THE LORD WILL BLESS THE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO WORK. But that is my pep talk for this week haha. I hope you all know that i love you so much and that i miss you like crazy! May the lord bless you this week  with much love and success. These pictures this week are: First my mom here in chile. She has the exact same personality as my mom. A picture of our baptism this past week and my sick new shoes haha. Love you all so so so much!!!

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 7 - 1 -2013

Well Everyone I need to first apologize for not writing you all last week, We as a house lost our P day. Which just sucked but it was something that we learned from. We recieved an unexpected visit from President Martinez and to make a long story short, the house wasnt very clean. But we have repented and we know now what we need to do in order to have the spirit with us at all times. But I am going to just tell you that these past couple of weeks have been so amazing. We have had 5 baptisms! I am sending the pictures attached with this email. But I dont have pictures of 2 of the people because my camera died.. But i cant even begin to tell you how much I love this work. It is honestly the greatest feeling in the world to  know that you were part of something that changed someones life. During the testimony of one of our investigadors-Conversos, she (Elizabeth shared her process of baptism) Her Exact words ´´Before my missionaires came to my door i was confused, I didnt know what religion to be a part of the catholics or the Evangelico church. I was thinking about what was best for my family and 2 white boys came to the door and changed my life forever¨ She later said that she was the happieset person in the world knowing that know she can live together with her family for eternity. I couldnt help but tear up during her testimony. I have a picture with her and her son right before the baptism. We also baptized Karla and Mayerly this saturday. This  was so special for us. Because Karla refused to take lessons or be baptized with all the other missionaires but over a process of about a month we saw a complete change in her a new light. And the same goes for her daughter. We have just seen miracle after miracle. My companion and i had 6 baptisms in the month of june, with 4 more planned this month! I am so happy to just say that the lord is blessing us so much. This has honestly been the most amazing experience of my life.
I am so happy to hear that everyone is doing okay. I am so glad to hear mom that you are doing better from your surgery! I am glad to hear that everyone in my family and the ollerton family are doing more than good! I am so glad for all that you do for me! I dont have much time to write today but here are some pictures! Of my experience up to this point in my mission and i promise from now on you will receive much more pictures! I love you all so much. Thank you all so much for all of your prayers and all that you do for me. I love you all so much and i couldnt be more blessed to have you all in my life!!

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 6-10-2013

Hola Familia!!
Hey I hope that everything is going so so awesome in Utah! This week has been a pretty solid week here in chile, but first off i need to apoligize. I only sent the letter last week to my mom on accident i meant to send it to the normal family members but i completly forgot to add the other 5 people so i apoligize for that and it wont happen again. But from all the emails it sounds like everything is going awesome in springville!! I looks like it is super hot there and it looks like art city days were a blast! I am glad to hear that everyone is doing so great and everyone is doin well in sports. And cameron also looks great in his glasses haha. I loved getting the pictures of dallin this past week. But i was disappointed to see that he was wearing a mexico jersey!! BOOOOOOOOOO!!! Haha.
Some exciting news from down south, well first.. Chile is going to the world cup! That was massive down here! In other church related news... We are going to have something called a ´Bautisaso´ the 22nd of this month. This is pretty much an activity where you have tons of baptisms in one day! And i am pleased to announce that My companion and i are going to have 6 of our investagators baptized that day!!! We have 6 people planned for that day, and we are honestly so excited to do this! We just need them to attend chuch this week. If they attend church they will be baptized! Ah we are so excited for this and we are just praying with all of our faith that this happens!! We have had a lot of success the past couple of weeks. We have found 30 new people within the past 3 weeks and this is including alot of families! The lord is just blessing us a full!!! It is safe to say that I am just in love with this work hah.
But matt and wendy, thank you so much for the updates! It is so crazy to see that melissa is getting married!! I am glad to hear that springville had so much success at the UTE SHOOT. I hope Justin is still reppin the 18 haha. Mom and mike thank you so  much for the emails this past week and for all the updates. It made me kinda tear up when you told me that story about jax, not gonna lie haha. But i know that the lord is blessing you all so much and it makes me really realize how much i love this church. Thank you for all of your support and for all that you do for me. And mom, i am sure that i have gotten the package. It is probably just in the office in Concepcion. I love you all so  much and i cant wait to hear from you next week.
With loads of love,

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 5-21-2013

Hola mi familia y amigos!
Primero, este semana fue super bueno! No Tuvimos mucho investigadores nuevo, pero Nosotros tuvimos la oportunidad a enseñar el evangelio. Y obvio este es el razón estoy aquí! For those of you that dont know what that said dont be discouraged because it took me forever to learn that phrase haha. But I said `this week was super good, We didnt have many new investagators but we had the oppurtunity to share the gospel and obviously thats why i am here. But really i love it so much, it has been so awesome, currently my companion and i are having some trouble finding news. Many of our citas this week fell, which sucked but hey... All we can do is try our best and hope the lord will help us with the rest. I know that the lord has prepared people for us, we just need to find them now! But we have some awesome progressing investagators, we have a 4 families right now that we are teaching and 2 of the 4 are preparing for baptism. The hardest thing is to get people to keep their commitments. But we know that the lord will help us. My companion and i are feeling like this week is going to be a really big week for us! This week we have a ton of citas (appointments) with our investagators. Also this week we have 'Noche en Gringolandia' the story behind this is we have 3 'gringos' in our house, and so we wanted to have a night of all american activities and food. The people in our branch our super excited about this and so are all of our investagators. SO we expect to have a great turn out!! Here is the deal, i am in charge of making cookies, so if i could get a sugar cookie recipe from anyone that would be awesome. SO please send me a sugar cookie recipe! Thank you all so much!
So there really isnt much else going on. like i said we are expecting to have a good week this week!! This past week we also had our talent show, the missionaries danced to the song 'What makes you beautiful' by one direction. And it was a hit! Everyone loved it so much. The thing that people cheering the loudest was at the very end of the song all of us started to sing the chorus, and everyone just loved it!! It was such a great night with the ward. Church was also so amazing this week!! The talks this week were on  faith. And it our classes we learned about the resturation of the church and how we can prepare to enter the temple!!

I am so glad to hear that everyone is doing awesome at home. I am glad to hear that all of  my siblings (Ollertons, and my family) Are all excelling in everything they are doing. I am glad to hear that dallin is doing so awesome! Also, Justin keep growing your hair out, its looking awesome! haha. But in all reality I really love you all so so so much! And I miss you like crazy, I have so many stories to tell you but not enough time to write everything. I hope that you all have such an awesome week and that you may find that blessings that the lord has given you. I love you all so much and I pray for you everyday.
With much much much much love,

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 5-13-2013

Well everyone, another week has gone by and it was obviously so so amazing! I really don't have much to say this week other than It was so amazing to skype with my family yesterday. I'm not going to lie, i started to cry when i had to say bye to my mom but it really was so awesome to see the family again. I am loving Chile more than ever. Obviously there are those tough times but the lord has carried me through everything. I really cant even begin to tell you how much i love this work. It is the most amazing thing that i have done in  my life. Like i said i don't really have to much to say, the work is awesome, we have a lot of progressing investigators. I love the people here so much. We have a talent show this Friday for our ward so we are pretty excited about that. Our talents are singing `What makes you beautiful`by one direction and we are having our sisters in our sector choreograph it for us so that should be super fun. We are also having a game to see who can eat a completo the fastest without our hands. All the missionaries in our sector will participate in this game, but the catch to this game is that we cant use our hands so we are planning on getting pretty messy. But i hope all is going well back home! I love you all and i am so happy to hear all the success that the Ollerton's are havin with all their stuff and all the amazing things that are happening in my family. I love you all and i cant wait to here   about all the new stories next week!!
I know that this is the hardest thing i have ever done in my life, but i will come home 10000000000 times more of a man than when i left

Elder Miyasaki's Message - 5-6-2013

Hola familia y amigos!
Well I think that I am just going to start writing letters home instead of doing the voice recordings! But let me tell you about the week, First off this week has been a good week. We posted 5 fechas which is just awesome, my companion and I are putting up awesome numbers but more importantly we are working hard. I have learned so much on this mission that we have to love the people and not the numbers! I have fallen in love with the people in Victoria! They are so so so awesome! Sometimes it is difficuly to understand the people but hey its a good thing i have an awesome companion right?! Haha. But during this week I found out that it rains alot here in Chile, The streets were just covered with rain and water. At some spots in the street the water was close to 6 or 7 inches. It has been raining so much during the last couple of days but hey, I have loved to learn to work in the rain. Something I could never say before haha. Other than that the work is still progressing. The health has been good for the most part. On tuesday i got really sick and i was throwing up. But thats probably because I ate 2 cumpletos, salchi papas and an empanada that night haha. So hopefully you can understand kinda how well my body looks right about now. Chances are i wouldnt even be able to finish a mile in under 10 minutes haha. But i love the work and I am enjoying it so much.

So i recieved probably the best news that I have recieved in a while. I learned that my mom is starting to wear her temple garments again, and obviously this is so so awesome and i couldnt help but smile! I am so proud of my mom and my family for the decisions that they are making and that the lord is blessing them so so much! Other things that I have heard, Justin... You need to back off from the girls and start preparing for that mission!! Haha. Trevor and cam keep doing work in all of your sporting activites! I am so glad to hear about all the success that you are having! Matt and Wendy thank you so much for keeping me updated on everything! I  am so grateful that i had the oppurtunity to be apart of your family for a year! And Paul and bethany thank you so much for the letter and advice i really appreciated it a ton!! To my family, i want you to know that i think and pray for you every single day. I am so grateful that i am part of such an amazing family and have been blessed so much throughout my life. I hope that everything with hanas play is going awesome!! I hope that Mikayla, Bailey, Taylor,Brenna and everyone else are doing well!! I think that you probably just need to just hit jax for me because from the sounds of it he sounds like he needs to get smacked haha jk. But Dad and  mom. I think that I have told you this before but the best way to get me my birthday money is through a package. I know that it will take forever but hey thats alright!! And also I need the skype name again!! The plan to skype you is 3:30 YOUR TIME!! and 5:30 my time. I am allowed to check my email through out this week. So please email back fast. Also I just want you to know how much i love you! I miss you all so much and i am so so so excited to talk to you this week!! Remember SUNDAY at 3:30 YOUR TIME.
I love and miss you all like crazy!!!!!!! Cant wait to hear about all the things that are happening this sunday

Elder Miyasaki's Message - April 15th 2013

Hola mi famila y mi amigos!
Another week has past here in The wonderful country of chile! This week has been a hard one, but it has also been filled with the spirit! Me and my companion have found 11 new Investigators which is awesome. I am so excited to work with them! We also set 3 more baptismal dates! They are a bunch of teenage girls, good thing my companion is attractive or else they probably wouldnt have wanted a lesson haha jk. But really these girls are awesome! They are all awesome and  just waiting to have the gospel in their lifes! Our golden girl Jocelyn decided that she didnt want anymore lessons which is sad because she was so awesome! But I know that the lord works in crazy ways and he will prepare people for us to teach!
Okay so here is a little more about chile, my companion and I have to walk everywhere!! So we walk about 5 to 6 miles a day! The food here is pretty similar to the food in the states. We have potatoes, soup, kethup, mayo and mustard with pretty much every meal. The meat here is pretty sketchy but it tastes good most of the time haha. So they like empanandas here alot! I love them too! But yesterday I had an empanada that i didnt like so much... It was an all fish empanada that had some kind of fish with tentacles in it and it had egg yolk in there, it was alright i guess but i have definitly had better! We eat at a members house every single day! We usually eat at hermana alejandras house, she is so awesome! She is a convert of 4 years and she is the district primary president. The spanish is coming along awesome! I have learned so much and last night i talked to someone all by myself. SO that was pretty exciting. It is still hard to understand sometimes because the people here speak so fast!!! But the work is awesome and I love it!

So what is going on in the sports world? Savannah told me that Kobe Bryant tore his achilles. That is so sad! I guess thats what happens though when you play in the NBA for over half your life. Also I am so glad to hear about some of the success that is happening right now in the springville track program! Justin i am proud of you for taking first in the long jump, that is so awesome! I am glad to hear that Jessi and Jake are doing so well! Its so crazy to think that they are gonna be seniors next year! I am glad to hear that my sisters, Bailey and Mikayla and the rest of my other siblings are doing awesome as well. When I say siblings I mean my family and the ollerton family. Of course my family including the ewings. But I want you to know that I love you all so so so much. I know that this is where i am supposed to be at this time in  my life. I love this work so much. Mom I love and miss you like crazy and i want you to know that you will always be my best friend. To my family I love and miss you tons! To matt and wendy, I love and miss you alot!! I am sure that Justin is gonna look smokin hot at prom hahah. Have such an amazing week!! Until next week let the lord bless you as you do all you things.
Love you all, Elder Miyasaki

Chile - 4/8/2013

Hello Everyone!
So I magically became super smart this week and I decided that instead of emailing a bunch of messages, I could just e mail one big massive one! Pretty smart huh? Well I am going to give you an update of what has happened over the past couple weeks..
My last week in la CCM was so great! It was a total review week, i am not going to lie. There was a lot more messing around than there was studying. We often turned our study time into study games. I loved doing that so much, it made things alot more fun and it still invited the spirit, and having the spirit is always awesome! The night before we left all of the priesthood holders had the wonderful oppurtunity of giving all the hermanas blessing. That was such an awesome experience and the spirit was so strong! We then after sang Para Siempre Dios este con vos. This song is also known as God be with you til we meet again. The spirit in that room was so incredibly strong. It was a time of rejoicing because we were finally leaving the MTC but it was also a time of sadness. All of us in our district became so close! As we were singing i noticed my companion crying. Remember, my companion is 6 foot 4 and weighs 325 pounds. This moment I started to tear up and so did the rest of the Elders. While singing i recapped the 6 weeks that I was in the MTC and remembered all of the amazing memories. I had gained 5 new great friends in those elders and 6 more friends with the Hermanas. But thats enough with the MTC.

Chile has been so so so amazing, I love it so much here. The weather here is so amazing and so is everything else, except our house... For those that know me, know that I have a massive fear of spiders. So what did i see when i first walked in the door? A massive spider. It scared me not gonna lie, and it made the first night a almost restless one because i was afraid that the spider was gonna get me during the night haha. My companion is AWESOME. His name is Elder Girsburger, he is from south jordan utah. He attended Bingham High School and played basketball and football there. So we get along amazing! The work here has also been incredible! We have had 4 fechas (Baptisimal Dates) but here is the sad part, we lost 3 of them because they didnt want to leave their religion. I wonder in my head how someone wouldnt want to come into the true church of the lord? I know that the lord wants them to be apart of the church, I know that the hermanas have felt the spirit as we have taught them. But the only thing we can keep doing is try. The one that is still standing is a joven named Jocelyn. She is a wonderfull 22 year old woman who is prepared to be baptized, she told us our very first lesson that she has had dreams about our church. It is so amazing to see how the lord prepares his people. And how about General Conference this week? It was so amazing. Matt ollerton made an awesome point in his email that he sent me. He said isnt it crazy how when we are right in the backyard of our conference center that we dont really pay all that much attention but when we are half way around the world we listen and absorb every single word that is said. How true is that? I have never listened to conference as well as i did these past couple days. I even took 16 pages of notes. The lord is so so amazing, I love his work so much. I cant even begin to tell you how much I love this mission already. Im not going to lie, it has been really hard. It is often hard to really hard to understand the spanish here. But the lord has blessed me so much. I have learned more in 2 weeks here than i have learned my entire life! The lords work is awesome, I noticed the big theme this conference was Family. This is because families are so inportant! I know that families can be together forever, and what a blessing it is to know that! I have no doubt in my mind that this is the true church, I know that we can be forgiven of our sins. But most importantly I know that we can live with our loving heavenly father and Jesus Christ again.
Matt and wendy, thank you so much for the emails and matt i would love to keep getting the updates on dalling and zach, i love hearing how my brother is doing. Justin i am so proud of you for manning up and asking a girl to prom that is AWESOME i am telling you, When you are wearing that magic number 18 you have the strength to do anything haha. But I love you all so much and Miss you.

My family, I love you all so much, I miss you like crazy, I think about you all the time. But what a blessing it is to know that i always have you with me, At least in my heart. Mom the mission address is
Mision Chile Concepcion Sur
Fono (41) 2210312-(41)2210360
That is the address to the mission office. I am glad to hear that all is going well in the family! I miss you all so much and i cant wait til I see you all again, Until next week
I love you all so so much

Message from Elder Miyasaki - 3-13-2013

Buenos tardes everyone!
This week has definitly been an amazing one! The week started out kind of hard, but it got so much better as the week went on. This week has already started out so so amazing! I had the amazing privilage of seeing Elder Bate come into the MTC today. Its honestly so so amazing to be here in the MTC with all my friends, I just got back from the temple and let me tell you, it was so so so amazing. The spirit there was so incredibly strong. I dont remember the last time I felt the spirit as strong as I did today. The Mtc has brought so many amazing blessings so far in my life and it has defenitly helped me grow up so much.
Last night Paul V Johnson from the quorom of the seventy came and spoke to us at our Tuesday Devotional, He was such an amazing speaker and I learned so much from his talk. He started off his talk by asking us all a question. The question was "What do you see yourself doing at this time in 2 years?" It was such a simple question but it really got me thinking a lot. The first thing I thought of was I didnt want to have any regrets when my time on my mission is all said and done, I want to invite the spirit in every single thing that I do. He then asked another question, "What do you want your future spouse to be like?" I thought that was such a weird question but again that got be thinking. It was so crazy that Elder Johnson asked this question because literally the night before my roomates and I were talking about the girls that we would want to marry. And all of us came to a conclusion that we all wanted to marry a Returned Missionary. The hermanas here are so so so awesome, their spirits and testimonys are so strong! And I defintly want to marry someone that wants to raise the family in the church and always have the gospel in their life at all times. The MTC really changes alot of things haha. But today we are getting a new district, so that means I get to get out of class again and do an orientation, being a Zone leader definitly has its perks haha. We now have 5 districts in our zone.
Thank you all for the letters that you have sent me and the packages. I really appreciate all the love and support you have given me, It means the whole world!
Love you all and I cant wait to hear from you during this next week
Te Amo!

Some more pics from the Dr Visit

Best Buds

Elder Miyasaki's Trip to the Doctor

On Monday morning (March 11th) we received a call from the MTC saying that Jalon needed to go to the doctors for x-rays and MRI's on his shoulder. More specifically his Labrum. This was the same shoulder (Labrum) that he had to have surgically repaired in High School. GASP...... our hearts fell. Jalon was so nervous about them telling him if had to have surgery. If surgery was needed this would delay his departure to Chile. And he was wicked worried about that.

Alaina spoke with Jalon and found out when the appointment was and she was able to go with him to it. So Alaina and Jax met Jalon and Elder Simms at the Hospital this morning (March 12th). They spoke with Dr. Wayne Mortensen and everything is going to be OKAY!!! He is sore but he will be okay! Dr. Mortensen told him that he needs to be careful with the weights and such.

Here are some pictures from the Dr's visit today.

Message from Elder Miyasaki - 3-6-2013

Hello Everyone!
I hope that your week has been amazing. My week has been a good one. I defenitly saw alot more trials and hard times this week than I have in the previous couple weeks. But this week still has been an amazing one! My room unfortunatly failed our room check because the people here at the MTC dont like the idea of 'Mega Bed' very much. Which is a bummer because mega bed has been such a great joy in my life. We didnt lose any basketball games this week so we pretty much run the MTC when it comes to basketball haha. I have learned so much this week when it has come to language, it often gets frustrating at times because you feel like you are making no progress at all but when you teach lessons you see how much you have really learned and honestly its the greatest feeling ever! My testimony has been grown so much and honestly I cant even wait til I leave the MTC for Chile. The day I leave is March 25th. I really just want to get out there and teach. I really cant believe that I have already been out for almost a month. Time has gone by so fast.
Just a quick thank you to all the people that sent me packages and mail this week. I really appreciate them so so much! Wendy, thank you so much for the jerky that you sent. I was only able to eat 2 or 3 slices before my roomates decided to take the rest of the bag. And mom.. I want you to know that I love and miss you mucho. And that goes for the rest of my family.
I love you all so very much. I am so grateful that I have all of you in my life, you have been such a positive impact on me. Stanley tell Bate that I want to see him right when he comes to the Mtc. And make sure to tell Paystrup that I love him. Love you all and I will write you next week.

Message from Elder Miyasaki - 2-27-2013

Buenos Dias everyone!
Another week has gone by here in the MTC. And it has been another great week! I have learned so much more spanish this week, some people might confuse me for a hispanic person if they didnt know me better haha. But more importantly I have grown a ton spiritually, I had the amazing experience of hearing M. Russel Ballard speak at our devotional last night, It was so amazing to feel the spirit as he walked into the room, and even more amazing to hear him talk, the spirit was so incredibly strong last night. Its so amazing to see all the blessing that have come so far during my mission. My testimony has grown so much since I have been here. And I feel like I have matured alot more since being here.
Last night my roomates and I decided to make a 'Mega Bed'. I have no idea why we decided to do it, but I like it an awful lot. I feel like we did it so we dont break the mission rule of "not sleeping in the same bed as your companion" So technically we are not sleeping in the same bed, just the same areaish... Haha. I am also very sad to inform you that my 3 on 3 basketball team lost our first game this week. Our record stands at something like 10-1. But who is counting haha.
Just a quick shout out to Springville girls basketball team on taking state! That is so so so awesome!!! It feels like just yesterday that I was in the stands cheering the girls on in the state tournament. And also just a quick thank you to all the people that wrote me this week. I enjoy recieving letters so so much. And also receiving packages are quite amazing as well. Just remember if you send a packaage to put some mountain dew in there haha. And also please let me know what is going on in the sports world, not having any access to sports is drivin me crazy. not having sports is honestly harder than not having a phone haha.
Now on to a some more spiritual stuff... hah
We taught our investagaters again this week, we almost got Ana (our investegater) baptized but she kindly declined. We had our first visit with Marcella this week and we got her to commit on reading the book of mormon and praying. So my companion and I feel as if we got a baptism!
My companion and I are still doin great! Elder Simms, Elder Overson, Elder Trudeau and I have honestly become the greatest of friends and it makes the 'mega bed' alot more fun haha. Also mom, I would love to send you some pictures but the camera that I got is not working. On a more positive note..
I love you all and I cant wait to here from you. Please keep writing me and sending those packages because they are honestly so so great!! ONE LOVE

Message from Elder Miyasaki - 2-20-2013

Hello Everyone!
Well let me just start off by saying that the MTC has honestly been the most incredible and amazing thing in the world. I love the Mtc so much. I have felt the spirit stronger during the past week than what I have probably my entire life! I have already had 3 spiritual moving things happen to me that will change my life for the better. The spanish is coming along great. I have already learned more spanish in the past week than what I did in 4 years of high school spanish. I guess thats what happens though when the lord is always with you.
My companion is so so amazing. His name is elder Simms. He is MASSIVE! He is like 6 foot 4 and 325 pounds. But he has been such an incredible companion, he has honestly already become one of my best friends and its only been a week. The other kids in my room are named Elder Tredeau and Elder Overson. They are both from Arizona and both again, have already become like best friends. We have honestly had the most spriritual experiences together. Another blessing I have had along with my companion is that we have been called to be the Zone Leaders. We are in charge of about 4 or 5 districts including our own, and we will get set apart this sunday.

Thank you to everybody that has taken their time to write me and send me some care packages. Your letters and packages make my day so amazing. The Nolls were amazing and sent some cookies. Mrs Paystrup sent me some Krispy Kreme that was aten in about 2.5 seconds by roomates. And Wendy Ollerton sent me an incredible package. My suggestions for care packages... Mtn Dew.. Lots and lots of Mtn Dew haha. Food is also an incredible thing as well!! I really feel like I have gained 10 pounds since I have been here but I am to scared to get on the scale and see for myself haha. Also gym time is an amazing time!! Elder Trudeau, Elder Simma and I pretty much tear up the basketball court. Some people probably think that we play in the NBA or something like that. Also I have seen so many friends since I have been here. I see Elder Sisk about everyday and I have seen so many more missionaires. I finally saw Elder Buhler, It was so amazing to be reconnected with my long lost asian brother.
Thank you all so much for everything, I love and appreciate you all so much, Remember two things for me while I am gone, Remember that the gospel of Jesus christ is true and remember to keep sending me those care packages haha.
Love you all!!!!!

Small World

We were so excited last night! One of my families dear friends (Dale Cutler) snapped a photo of Elder Miyasaki yesterday and sent it to us. Thank you so much for the picture!
