Elder Miyasaki's Message - April 15th 2013

Hola mi famila y mi amigos!
Another week has past here in The wonderful country of chile! This week has been a hard one, but it has also been filled with the spirit! Me and my companion have found 11 new Investigators which is awesome. I am so excited to work with them! We also set 3 more baptismal dates! They are a bunch of teenage girls, good thing my companion is attractive or else they probably wouldnt have wanted a lesson haha jk. But really these girls are awesome! They are all awesome and  just waiting to have the gospel in their lifes! Our golden girl Jocelyn decided that she didnt want anymore lessons which is sad because she was so awesome! But I know that the lord works in crazy ways and he will prepare people for us to teach!
Okay so here is a little more about chile, my companion and I have to walk everywhere!! So we walk about 5 to 6 miles a day! The food here is pretty similar to the food in the states. We have potatoes, soup, kethup, mayo and mustard with pretty much every meal. The meat here is pretty sketchy but it tastes good most of the time haha. So they like empanandas here alot! I love them too! But yesterday I had an empanada that i didnt like so much... It was an all fish empanada that had some kind of fish with tentacles in it and it had egg yolk in there, it was alright i guess but i have definitly had better! We eat at a members house every single day! We usually eat at hermana alejandras house, she is so awesome! She is a convert of 4 years and she is the district primary president. The spanish is coming along awesome! I have learned so much and last night i talked to someone all by myself. SO that was pretty exciting. It is still hard to understand sometimes because the people here speak so fast!!! But the work is awesome and I love it!

So what is going on in the sports world? Savannah told me that Kobe Bryant tore his achilles. That is so sad! I guess thats what happens though when you play in the NBA for over half your life. Also I am so glad to hear about some of the success that is happening right now in the springville track program! Justin i am proud of you for taking first in the long jump, that is so awesome! I am glad to hear that Jessi and Jake are doing so well! Its so crazy to think that they are gonna be seniors next year! I am glad to hear that my sisters, Bailey and Mikayla and the rest of my other siblings are doing awesome as well. When I say siblings I mean my family and the ollerton family. Of course my family including the ewings. But I want you to know that I love you all so so so much. I know that this is where i am supposed to be at this time in  my life. I love this work so much. Mom I love and miss you like crazy and i want you to know that you will always be my best friend. To my family I love and miss you tons! To matt and wendy, I love and miss you alot!! I am sure that Justin is gonna look smokin hot at prom hahah. Have such an amazing week!! Until next week let the lord bless you as you do all you things.
Love you all, Elder Miyasaki

Chile - 4/8/2013

Hello Everyone!
So I magically became super smart this week and I decided that instead of emailing a bunch of messages, I could just e mail one big massive one! Pretty smart huh? Well I am going to give you an update of what has happened over the past couple weeks..
My last week in la CCM was so great! It was a total review week, i am not going to lie. There was a lot more messing around than there was studying. We often turned our study time into study games. I loved doing that so much, it made things alot more fun and it still invited the spirit, and having the spirit is always awesome! The night before we left all of the priesthood holders had the wonderful oppurtunity of giving all the hermanas blessing. That was such an awesome experience and the spirit was so strong! We then after sang Para Siempre Dios este con vos. This song is also known as God be with you til we meet again. The spirit in that room was so incredibly strong. It was a time of rejoicing because we were finally leaving the MTC but it was also a time of sadness. All of us in our district became so close! As we were singing i noticed my companion crying. Remember, my companion is 6 foot 4 and weighs 325 pounds. This moment I started to tear up and so did the rest of the Elders. While singing i recapped the 6 weeks that I was in the MTC and remembered all of the amazing memories. I had gained 5 new great friends in those elders and 6 more friends with the Hermanas. But thats enough with the MTC.

Chile has been so so so amazing, I love it so much here. The weather here is so amazing and so is everything else, except our house... For those that know me, know that I have a massive fear of spiders. So what did i see when i first walked in the door? A massive spider. It scared me not gonna lie, and it made the first night a almost restless one because i was afraid that the spider was gonna get me during the night haha. My companion is AWESOME. His name is Elder Girsburger, he is from south jordan utah. He attended Bingham High School and played basketball and football there. So we get along amazing! The work here has also been incredible! We have had 4 fechas (Baptisimal Dates) but here is the sad part, we lost 3 of them because they didnt want to leave their religion. I wonder in my head how someone wouldnt want to come into the true church of the lord? I know that the lord wants them to be apart of the church, I know that the hermanas have felt the spirit as we have taught them. But the only thing we can keep doing is try. The one that is still standing is a joven named Jocelyn. She is a wonderfull 22 year old woman who is prepared to be baptized, she told us our very first lesson that she has had dreams about our church. It is so amazing to see how the lord prepares his people. And how about General Conference this week? It was so amazing. Matt ollerton made an awesome point in his email that he sent me. He said isnt it crazy how when we are right in the backyard of our conference center that we dont really pay all that much attention but when we are half way around the world we listen and absorb every single word that is said. How true is that? I have never listened to conference as well as i did these past couple days. I even took 16 pages of notes. The lord is so so amazing, I love his work so much. I cant even begin to tell you how much I love this mission already. Im not going to lie, it has been really hard. It is often hard to really hard to understand the spanish here. But the lord has blessed me so much. I have learned more in 2 weeks here than i have learned my entire life! The lords work is awesome, I noticed the big theme this conference was Family. This is because families are so inportant! I know that families can be together forever, and what a blessing it is to know that! I have no doubt in my mind that this is the true church, I know that we can be forgiven of our sins. But most importantly I know that we can live with our loving heavenly father and Jesus Christ again.
Matt and wendy, thank you so much for the emails and matt i would love to keep getting the updates on dalling and zach, i love hearing how my brother is doing. Justin i am so proud of you for manning up and asking a girl to prom that is AWESOME i am telling you, When you are wearing that magic number 18 you have the strength to do anything haha. But I love you all so much and Miss you.

My family, I love you all so much, I miss you like crazy, I think about you all the time. But what a blessing it is to know that i always have you with me, At least in my heart. Mom the mission address is
Mision Chile Concepcion Sur
Fono (41) 2210312-(41)2210360
That is the address to the mission office. I am glad to hear that all is going well in the family! I miss you all so much and i cant wait til I see you all again, Until next week
I love you all so so much
